Around The World – A Chat with Mark Beaumont

February 6, 2022

This week we talk to Mark Beaumont after answering two listener questions and getting an update on Nicks’ new bike!

About Mark

Over the past two decades Mark has pushed the limits of endurance, spoken at thousands of events and worked in over 100 countries. Amongst other Guinness World Records he remains the fastest person to have cycled around the planet. Marks passion for entrepreneurship takes him into a range of businesses, backing innovation and advising on growth. He lives in Edinburgh, Scotland with his wife Nicci and two daughters.

First Question

I have too much junk in my trunk – what do I really need to carry on a 30-180 minute ride. I don’t want to have to hire a sherpa but also don’t want to have to call AAA for the most minor issue.

What is the right size package for group activities?

Second Question

“I’ve come to an impasse with my bike. It’s getting older, 105 10speed and aluminum. I like to ride all kinds of surfaces and I am not a racer by any stretch. As my wife says I am frugal, what are some really good aluminum options on the market. I would prefer to keep my organs on the inside and not sell them.

Thanks,
(Frugal) Fred”
